Product Owner | West of Ireland | Hybrid | Permanent

Hiring on behalf of a financial services technology organisation, seeking an experienced Product Owner to steward a legacy platform while supporting the development of a next-generation replacement.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with business owners and clients to understand workflows, pain points, and requirements through structured problem discovery
  • Challenge stakeholders to articulate the why behind requests rather than accepting prescribed solutions
  • Partner with the Technical Product Owner to translate insights into well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Balance competing client needs and make clear, reasoned trade-off recommendations
  • Own the Kanban workflow for ongoing legacy platform maintenance alongside a small engineering team
  • Prioritise bug fixes, minor feature requests, and operational improvements to maintain platform stability
  • Manage third-party integrations and handle client support escalations related to data delivery
  • Keep backlogs well-prioritised and delivery predictable across both legacy and new platform workstreams

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in financial services, governance, or a related domain
  • 1–2 years' product management or product ownership experience within a technical team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to translate stakeholder requests into well-structured requirements
  • Experience managing legacy systems and new platform development in parallel
  • Comfortable with Kanban and Agile workflows in small, high-velocity teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to distil complex business logic clearly

Nice to have

  • Experience with third-party platform integrations such as Broadridge, Proximity, or similar voting services
  • Familiarity with user-centred design principles and product experience thinking
